As we all know, osteoarthritis could cause severe pain and reduced mobility. But there is good news for the sufferers! The result of a new study conducted by Danish researchers at Copenhagen's HS Frederiksberg Hospital on more than 500 overweight adults diagnosed with osteoarthritis indicated that losing even a moderate amount of weight can significantly improve the quality of life for many osteoarthritis sufferers.
The researchers found that patients who lost just 5% of their body weight experienced a significant improvement in their mobility and pain symptoms. They recommend a target body weight loss of 10% over the course of two months which would give even more optimal improvement.
